This place was awful. We went to eat there at 9 today and as soon as we walked in the waiter looked so disappointed or angry and said “we close at 9:3” not what the sign outside said and he spent the entire time rushing us to order quickly. My husband ordered a burrito, but got something entirely different. The whole time we were there the waiter never bothered to ask us if we wanted anything to drink/refills, but he sure did spend time with all the other tables. We asked for to go containers and while we were paying he kept explaining to us why he was rushing us. It was not a good experience never going back there again.
My favorite Mexican spot in Seattle! Food is fantastic and service is outstanding! You can drink a margarita as big as your head!
My roommates had been hyping this place up a lot but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I grew up elsewhere and am accustomed to some really delicious Mexican food. La Palma was quite overpriced and undersold on what I was expecting. They also didn't have multiple things that I had asked to order, such as the fried ice cream, but were able to throw something together for me that slightly resembled my favorite dessert. I appreciate how willing they were to help and honestly increased the rating from 3 stars to 4 simply because of the service. All night our waiter took care to make sure we had everything we needed. While the food was overpriced and not as good as I was hoping/expecting, the service was fantastic.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Seattle! Their menu is endless; truly SO many options. The staff is so friendly and engaging. You can tell they truly appreciate and are fond of their customers. It gets really busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so parking can be difficult. They only make reservations for 6 or more I believe. Groups of 4 or less get seated pretty quickly though - I’ve never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes to get a seat.
Food was just ok and its a bit pricey for what you get, but service is prompt and accommodating
I love La Palma. I've been a patron since I was a kiddo and I go at least every few months with my family. The service is always fantastic. It's great seeing Alex there all these years. The food is yummy and I love their drinks.
Like taking a trip back in time. Good salsa and food hits the spot.
This is one of the very few places you can find genuine Latin food! I recently moved to Seattle and have tried to make it my mission to find a spanish restaurant that reminds me of home. None have deserved the award yet, however, La Palma is the closest I have gotten to decent spanish food. The staff is super friendly and lively! I guarantee they'll remember your name if you spark a conversation more than once.
The atmosphere is great for any casual dining session, the food is very well done and the staff is very nice once they get around to you...The staff seems fully staffed but when I was there dining they always seemed very busy and it took a while to be seated. I got there before my group to reserve a table and I was passed up more than 6 times by staff while waiting by the please wait to be seated sign without any form of acknowledgement. I finally called their pick up-to go phone to force someone toward me. Once I actually had their attention it was all great.TLDR; 4 stars because I'm sure the slow service was just a 1 time oversight and everything else was great.
LOVE LOVE LOVE La Palma. Great food, wonderful staff, strong drinks, What more could you want. I have been frequenting La Palma since I was a little kid and they never disappoint. If you are in the area, and hungry, check them out!!
Amazing food but took 45 minutes to pay. Our server's personality was very friendly, made us laugh and smile, and he was busy. He served a group who arrived after my sister and I arrived and got them out of here much faster and before us!! We ready for over an hour and we still had to wait to pay. My sister and I seriously thought the meal was free at this point.
Great food excellent atmosphere. Well done!
Nice view, good food, funny and wonderful waiter. Spicy salsa
Ordered the Veggie Fajitas and the Beef and Chicken Enchiladas. The portions are really big. We were not able to finish. But despite that, the prices were very reasonable. Overall the food is great! This restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside but its beautiful on the inside!
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Seattle. The food is delicious, portion sizes are hefty, the staff is friendly and will remember you. I often order to-go, but when I eat in, staff consistently makes an effort to make conversation and get to know you.
Really good fajitas. The carne tastes great
The best people you will ever meet at any restaurant work here. It feels like home. Warm and fun as soon as you walk in the front door. Top quality food and amazing drinks. When I first came here there was no question I would come back (and I have so many times) and I know you will too. Please support this local restaurant!!!!
The place is great staff very friendly. Quality wise the food can be alot better my beans were really greasy, and the portions are abit small for the price. If they modify the recipe this restaurant can really make a huge impact on the seattle community.
Our favorite spot! The Grande Margarita is always worth it!
The burritos are the best thing on the menu, would recommend them to anyone that visits this place!
Tasty, "comida rapida" fare that tastes home-made and strong drinks.
Excellent food! 👌 Great service too!
I gave this place a 2nd chance. Both times (pre covid and today), the food tasted stale. Its as if the food absorbs the old house odor. My kid got a quesadilla and she didnt want to eat it. Food came, we had no silverware. Chips, rice, torillas, cheese all tasted old and like packaging. Only yummy item was the guacamole. Service was ok, but our waiter stared at us the entire time, which was a bit creepy...but attentive? Anyways, no 3rd chance from us.
Amazing food and drinks would highly recommend. I recommend the strawberry daiquiri
This is your standard American Mexican resturant. The one that you went to all the time with your extended family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles) but they do it so well I love going everytime it's consistent. It's the same meat/beans/rice/cheese/corn/flour shell done in different ways. Which I love. The tamale is soft. Burritos and enchiladas are drenched in sauce and cheese, very filling. Chalupa is massive which a very crispy and tasty shell. The margaritas are HUGE. I'm talking massive and fully loaded ;) The quesdido? dip was greasy and not the best. The staff is very friendly. I love going for the atmosphere they great
Great place with delicious mexican dishes. The portions are large , the prices are fair and the service very quick and professional.
The veggie fajitas were great and the staff was funny and friendly. Great vibes too!
The staff was friendly, attentive, and polite. Had the Carne Asada, it was billed as "Top Sirlion", but I think they probably just sliced a roast really thin. Not the worst thing in the world but as the second priciest thing on the menu it begets wonder about the quality of the cheaper items on the menu. House margarita was mostly sugar water, I didnt finish it. It is advertised as a "Family" restaurant which means no bar apparently. Ambiance left something to be desired. Maybe just a little too dingy to buy the standard Tex-Mex decor. I am glad I tried this place, I am new to the area and am checking out the sights. Probably wont be back.
The staff here is amazing! Love the margaritas, fajitas, chips, guac, everything! Coming back every day
Really GOOD food and excellent service!
They forgot what I ordered on the delivery. So I called them and they told me to come and get it and just hung up. So disappointing. They stole my money.
Consistently prepared Seattle'ized' Mexican fare served in more than adequate portions with free-flowing chips & salsa. Especially good value with a Groupon. Friendly and efficient staff of servers who appear genuinely happy to be there is a pleasant change from the norm. And it has its own dedicated parking lot--what more can you ask for?!
I was treated to this place several days ago, and I have to say that the food there is really good there. The décor definitely fits this restaurant. Definitely not the cheapest place, but I do recommend this place a lot.
All the servers here are completely cute. They made me happy anytime i come here.. feeling like family. Really cute and i love them so so much.
I’ve been eating here for over 20 years and it’s by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the greater Seattle area. The staff is so friendly, the food is AMAZING and their margaritas are unbeatable. Great for large groups and families. My favorite dish is the carne asada burrito or the steak fajitas
Great atmosphere with stupendous service.Delicious food and drink to boot.
Love the jumbo margaritas and the amazing staff
The food was SOOOO good I didn't want to stop eating but I had to because I was so full!!!! Great place & great service!!!! Happy environment even through this pandemic!!!! Thank you!!!!
La Palma, is a classic down home family owned and operated restaurant that I frequent.
Awesome place! Doesn't look like much from the outside (the front door is even kind of hard to find) but the service is great and super fast and the food is great!
We love this place! The food is always tasty; I've never had anything but great food here, nor has anyone I've dined with. We've been going here for years, maybe 20-25? The staff are very friendly and have been there for as many years. Nice to see the same faces when you go and they recognize you too. The only potential negative is for someone with a walking limitation; there are stairs outside and within the restaurant.
So much goodness! When you're in the mood for a huge plate of delicious rice, beans, cheese and meat in any combination you can imagine... La Palma is your place! The waiters are all the best. Long time family owned and operated and the wait and kitchen staff are steady and great. Nightly specials will usually get you a huge combo plate for $10. Two meals in one! They take the Passport Card so BOGO entrees can't be beat. Their margaritas can be done super fresh and they are always strong! Get the JUMBO one for $16, such a value, like three drinks in one glass, to share or to enjoy alone. Such a neighborhood gem. TVs always play the popular games and birthdays here are a hoot because you get to wear the big sombrero and have your pic taken for the wall. The only other Mexican contender of this type is Plaza Garibaldi in Lower Queen Anne, from which I hear is also by a Jalisco family. True Mexican all the way!
Not the best food in town. The server was nice if a bit odd. I would like to think someone will come in and help them with the recipes, cause the place has some charm.
La Palma is a good Mexican style restaurant right next to the Ballard bridge on the Interbay side. It has a large menu and the prices are great. They also have a big list of drinks, and heavy pours to add to it. The staff is always amazing, even when we bring in 20+ people. They are very accommodating and I would recommend making a reservation if you're looking to have a party.
Great food. Great service.
Great local Mexican restaurant - the food is consistent, authentic, and delicious. Expect huge portion sizes for both food and drink. The servers are top notch and always cracking jokes.
Amazing Mexican restaurant. Great owners and great workers
I have been going to this place for most of my life, never lets me down. The service and wonderful and it always brings a smile to my place when the waiters remember me and greet me like an old friend. I cannot eat any other Mexican food now as it all pales in comparison, this is simply the best there is. The inside is classy and comfy with a great view. Cannot recommend enough. Recommend the fajitas.
One of my go-to Mexican restaurants in Seattle. Servers always recognize us and often remember our prior order. The food is always tasty and consistent, and comes out quick. The space is a bit dated and not fancy, but I am there for the food and not the ambiance. Their jumbo margarita is gigantic and you definitely only need one.
